Salvation

Great Light

Billy Graham

Young people are searching. But they don't really know what they're searching for. They're hungry for something. Materialism hasn't satisfied. Sex hasn't satisfied. They're searching for something.

I tell young people that God loves them, that God is interested in them, and that he wants to help us in this life. Not just in the future life, but here and now. Young people are doing so many good things. Sometimes we promote the idea that all kids are bad. Well, they're not!

There are thousands of kids out there who are doing the very best that they possibly can, not only for the Lord Jesus, but for their communities and for their families and for the other people around them. There's a lot of homelessness, and young people are helping to build houses. A lot of them are involved in feeding people who are hungry.

With all of the problems that people face, you may be asking, "Where is Jesus?" He is alive, and he can be with each one of you. The Christmas message tells us that. It answers all of the questions that have plagued the human race since time began. It goes straight to our searching hearts and tells us that Christ alone can bring us lasting peace—peace with God, peace among people and nations, and peace within our hearts.

Depending on Him Alone

One of my bigger influences as a preacher in the area of applying the word of God to my life as an everyday source is Joyce Mayer. I love her way of preaching because she is open to tell us about her mistakes and I truly appreciate someone who is willing to share they up and down.
So this morning I check her daily devotional at work and it really impact my life so I decide to post it in our blog.

Then Jerubbaal, that is, Gideon, and all the people who were with him rose early and encamped beside the spring ofHarod; and the camp ofMidian was north of them by the hill ofMoreh in the valley. The Lord said to Gideon, The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel boast about themselves against Me, saying, My own hand has delivered me. So now proclaim in the ears of the men, saying, Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him turn back and depart from Mount Gilead. And 22,000 of the men returned, but 10,000 remained.
—Judges 7:1-3

Instead of telling Gideon, who was facing a major battle, that He would give him more men, God told him that he had too many for God to give him the victory. Interestingly enough, sometimes God works through our weaknesses better than through our strengths. There are times when we have too much going for us in the natural for God to give the victory. We are not in line for a miracle if anyone but God can help us. God was telling Gideon that they were too strong in themselves, that He wanted them in a position where they would have to depend entirely on Him. Pride and boasting ruin the best of men so God has to help us stay humble and, under His mighty hand, totally dependent on Him.

Hope you find it interest it too.

God Bless you !
